Product Notes
Made for Each Other is an American romantic comedy starring Carole Lombard and James Stewart. John Mason (James Stewart) is a young, somewhat timid attorney in New York City. He has been doing his job well and has a chance at a promotion if he marries Eunice (Ruth Weston), the daughter of his employer, Judge Doolittle. However, John meets Jane (Carole Lombard) during a business trip, and they fall in love and marry immediately. Eunice eventually marries another lawyer in the firm, Carter (Donald Briggs). John's mother is disappointed in his choice of bride and an important court trial forces him to cancel the honeymoon. John wins the case, but Judge Doolittle has chosen John's co-worker Carter as the new law partner in the firm. Jane encourages John to demand a raise and promotion, but with finances tightened by the Depression, Doolittle requires that all employees take a pay cut. John and his wife now have a baby which becomes ill with pneumonia. Unless a life-saving serum is procured from a hospital in Salt Lake City, the baby will die. John convinces a pilot to fly through a raging storm to the hospital, but the plane's engine catches fire and the plane almost crashes over the mountains. This is a great emotive and moving story which you will have to watch to see if there is a happy ending. The New York Times said of the movie, 'thoroughly delightful'.
