Based on a true incident, this gripping thriller from Kathryn Bigelow stars Harrison Ford as Alexei Vostrikov, a stern Soviet naval officer who, in 1961, supplants the well-liked Captain Mikhail Polenin (Liam Neeson) as commander of K-19, the Russian fleet's flagship submarine. When Cold War tensions flare up, K-19 is rushed into action patrolling the Atlantic, but technical problems and clashes between Vostrikov and Polenin threaten the vessel and it's crew.
