Product Notes
EXTREMELY RARE ITALIAN PROG-ROCK LP, REISSUED FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME IN AN EDITION FAITHFUL TO THE ORIGINAL 1972 RELEASE! Richard Last Group's "Get Ready" is one of the rarest LPs from the golden age of Italian progressive rock, originally released in a 1972 that's been revolutionary for the music genre, both in Italy and internationally. Founded in Milan in 1969 as Duu Duu, the band became Richard Last Group two years later, when singer Maurizio Calò joined the line-up, later calling himself Richard Coley. "Get Ready" is the only album released by Richard Last Group who, due to numerous line-up changes that also occurred during the recording sessions, had practically already dissolved in the Autumn of 1972, and is one of those little hidden gems that hardly anyone talked about at the time, only resurfacing much later, towards the end of the 90s. In addition to several cover songs from artists such as Jethro Tull, Donovan, Dave Mason (Traffic) and James Taylor, "Get Ready" contains three original compositions by Maurizio Calò, who then continued his musical activity as a solo artist. The album also features the presence of a then 16-year-old Walter Calloni, a drummer and percussionist who collaborated with many important names on the Italian pop/rock scene, as well as having been part of PFM's official line-up in the 1980s.
