Through the ranks of Duke Ellington's Orchestra passed some of the biggest names in jazz, including Johnny Hodges, Ray Nance, Rex Stewart, Ben Webster, Paul Gonsalves, Harry Carney and Clark Terry, to name a few. The selections presented here feature the phenomenal Ellington Orchestra in it's prime, recorded between 1943 and 1946. "The Kissing Bug" features the vocals of Joya Sherrill; "It Don't Mean a Thing" features Ray Nance and Taft Jordan on vocals; "Frankie and Johnny" features the jazz violin of Ray Nance. All selections have been newly remastered.
