Product Notes
Mazomanie, Wisconsin born Skylar Grey is a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who has been performing since the age of 6. She left home as a teenager to pursue a career in music in Los Angeles and released an album and EP under the name Holly Brook. She later changed her name to Skylar Grey and her music began to take on a new direction. Her distinctly emotive vocals and ability to play nearly a dozen instruments, as well as engineer and produce, set her on a unique musical journey that led her to English producer and 6 time Grammy nominated Alex Da Kid (Dr Dre, Eminem, B.O.B., Rihanna, Nicki Minaj). Alex began working with Skylar on Eminem's "Love the Way You Lie" featuring Rihanna, the biggest selling single of 2010, which earned them two Grammy Award nominations for Best Song and Best Rap Song of the Year. He later signed her to his own boutique label with Interscope, KIDinaKORNER Records. Skylar co-wrote Dr. Dres "I Need a Doctor," which was then nominated for two Grammys, and she performed alongside Dre and Eminem at the 2010 Awards. 13-time Grammy winning producer, songwriter and rapper Eminem has come aboard as Executive Producer of Skylars first full-length solo album, DON'T LOOK DOWN as well as featuring on the lead single, "C'mon Let Me Ride".
